Introduction

Within my blog, wherever I put 'Random Info', that means or are things I reckon you should or my opinion on things. Please do read it. I will also be giving you an insight on what I think about certain films and would also recommend you watch if you haven't seen it. Thank you

Genres

Sub-GenreA sub-genre is another genre within another genre. It's basically 2 genres in one

Hybrid-Genre
Its mixture of more than 2 genres in a genre.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paranormal Activity
Paranormal Activity uses handheld camaras creates an effect that the scene is happenign there without it looking like its been put together and edited. This creates a real life effect. If you haven't seen Paranormal Activity, i recommend you watch the first one before the others to understand the storyline for the rest. Its mainly about a woman who is being haunted and has been haunted since a young age.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Rebound
The two main characters are Catherine Zeta-Jones and Justin Bartha. Catherine, a single mother who leaves her cheating husband, leaves the suburbs and moves to the city where she meets Justin. At first he’s her nanny but then the end up falling in love. Realising he’s way younger than she is they split up however near the end, end up getting back together. What you call a typical Rom-Com movie. I do recommend you watch it!

Cutaway shot - Used to show something other than the subject or character

Two Shot - Goes by the name, its a shot of two people#

The 180 Degree Rule - In film and television, filmmakers always follow this rule as it determines the relationship between the characters through proxemics within a scene

Sunday 14th October, I usually watch a few movies, so I decided to watch Insidious for the the first time. In my opinion, that feel is overrated. I didn't find any of that film scary or tense at all. Astroprojection? A haunted boy? Seriously? If someone said that movie was underrated i would question them and ask how? I watched it alone, in the dark and still didn't find that film somehow scary. I could recall having one tense moment were I didn't jump, but felt a little tingle. A film coming from the makers of Paranormal Activity, you would assume that the film would be good but it was, in my opinion, a absolute let down. Not one that I would recommend.
However I also watched 'Fools Rush In' starring Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek. When it comes to romantic comedies, there's certain storylines I prefer watching for example the girlfriend is 7+ years older than the boyfriend or 2 people who don't know each other suddenly get knocked up. Fools Rush In is one of those films with a cultural clash. I wouldn't want to spoil it for you if you haven't seen but i suggest that you do watch it.

 Fools Rush In
Fools Rush In starring Matthew Perry and Salma Hayek is a romantic comedy of a cultural clash which happens from the one night stand. Salma Hayek plays a Mexican waitress and painter who's family are strict catholic and Matthew Perry as a atheist (the juxtaposition right). She gets pregnant then gets married within less than 6 months of knowing each until the problems start to begin. Its a funny film I enjoyed it and watch it 3 times already! another must watch for you. However Hayek does conform to a stereotypical, conventional female character as the housewife although she does want to become a painter.

WARNING, SERIOUSLY FUNNY - Don't Be A Menace In South Central While Drinking Juice In The Hood

The Mis-en-scene - When you look at her costume, the tight black leather one piece, you can tell that its an action movie, elaborated with the gun which is an action movie icon. However the paleness of her face and the brightness of her blue eyes, you can tell she isn't human (which she isn't). The Underworld saga is an example of a hybrid genre, action and horror. A film I would definitely recommend you watch.

My 3D Animation - I used a 3D animation program called 'Alice' to create a scene. The scene looks like another represention of the film The Mummy. The scene shows a businessman, native and cowboy being chased outside the pyramid by a group of mummys.
Match on Action
Definition of Match on Action -  Cutting on action or matching the action refers to film editing and video editing techniques where the editor cuts from one shot to another view that natches the  first shots action.
Can you see any on here

Must Watch - Underworld (2003), Underworld Evolution (2006), Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009), Underworld: Awakening (2012).

 Underworld: Awakening
The Underworld: Awakening opening scene uses a montage and a motivated edit. Its does this to recap the series of events thats happened in the last 3 Underworld movies, so you can get a vague memory of whats happened before it goes into the main part of the film. A motivated edit is when the film alludes to something occuring outside of the shot, the film then cuts to this event. At the begining you see Selene (Kate Beckinsale) at the roof top, then it cuts to the main events of the last 3 movies. Reasons why i like the whole Underworld Saga because unlike Twilight, there is a bit of romance however its more action. Kate Beckinsale subverts the typical conventions of women in this film and actually handles her own battles whereas in Twilight, Kristen Stewart doesn't do anything till Breaking Dawn part 2. Kate Beckinsale doesn't rely on man, as a typical relational character although the scopophilia of her outfit does approve of the male gaze, proposed by Mulveys theory on the male view. There are plenty of moments when the director films the pefect looking curves of Beckinsale in her tight, leather outfit.

The International

This is one of my FAVOURITE films. Even though it stars my one of my favourite British actors Clive Owen, the film is amazing. An Interpol agent attempts to expose a high-profile financial institution's role in an international arms dealing ring.
Its so intense and smart at the same time. I recommend that you do watch this. Its shows the corruption within the bank and how powerful they actually are if they're a major bank. What we don't think goes on, although its a fictional bank, it could possibly be true...
The sentence they use on the cover is really intriguing as well
'They control your money. They control your government. They control your life. And everybody pays' Firstly, that is really cool and second when you read that, it just sounds interesting and grabs your attention to pursue the directors narrative forward in the ways he presents it to you.
